The Walking Dead: Welcome to the Tombs

Monday, April 1 | Posted by Alexslander in The Walking Dead

For those of us ballsy enough to watch The Walking Dead live and DVD Game of Thrones, this episode started off with a reward: Torture  The Governor has clearly spent the 167 down hours brutally torturing Dr. Milton. El Gov gives the doc an ultimatum: Kill Andrea or else. Milton tries to fight back against The Governor, but to no avail. As he dies, The Governor essentially says that he’ll kill Andrea alive… or come back as a zombie and do it then. Milton chooses option #2, and The Governor stabs him to death.

The Walking Dead: This Sorrowful Life

Spoiler alert: This picture is one.

Good evening walkers and walkettes. Tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead features a death, a proposal, and — gasp — some action. The show starts off with creepy Merle jones-ing for God-knows-what. Crystal meth, I think. Well, he’s tearing apart the prison’s beds with his creepy daggerhand, looking for drugs. What would make him think there are drugs in the mattresses? Merle says, “Best junk I even got was from a prison mattress.” This lets everyone at home know that: 1) Merle was 100% in prison for a time, 2) Merle was a hard drug user. 3) Merle hates mattresses. Numbers 1 and 2 should be of shock to know one.

The Walking Dead: Prey

Want to hang out? ... Naw, I'm tied up.

Hello, living readers! Tonight’s Walking Dead episode starts off with a flashback. Michonne and Andrea are together, on the road. Pre-prison, pre-Woodbury, pre-awkward breakup. It seems like the scene takes place right after Michonne rescues Andrea; before what this viewer can only assume was a steamy love affair. Andrea asks Michonne who her pet zombies are. “Did you know them when they were human?” Michonne stoicly responds: “They were never human.”

What? Me CrAzY?

In case you forgot, we last ended with Rick going insane. Full. Blown. Insane. As we pick up again, it’s clear that just enough time has gone by that we should be wondering where crazy Rick is. A bit of a cop out — pun intended — if you ask me. He’s watching the perimeter, no sign at first of his (in)sanity. Then, in the binoculars, he scopes a woman in a wedding dress. Yup. It’s the psycho spirit of his dead wife Lauri  Except she’s not anorexic anymore (yeaaaaaaaah, girl). Funny how some time in Heaven puts some meat on the bones. Well, Rick goes running after her… outside the gates and starts making out with his dead wife. Bad idea anyone? Yes. Bad idea. Lauri’s apparition is… a biter! Just playing. She’s no one at all. Rick is literally just making out with… no one. And Michonne sees the whole thing. The black samurai knows Rick is losing his mind, but I’d guess she won’t say anything because 1) she’s been there before, and 2) she never says anything anyway.

Walking Dead's Michonne Sneaking Into Governor Quarters

Michonne Slips Into The Governor's Quarters on Walking Dead

Tonight is the mid-season finale of the Walking Dead, so be ready for all kinds of weird twists and turns. The show will go on hiatus until February after tonight and I expect all kinds of loose ends and cliff hangers so enjoy what you see tonight and hope we get plenty more in a couple of months.

We begin tonight with a group of five people running from walkers in the woods. Three of them appear to be family members; a father, mother and a son. While fighting the walkers the mother is bitten. The non-family members, a black couple, help the others break free and lead them to a tower standing in the midst of rubble. The black woman doesn’t want to bring the mother along because of her bite. The father and son beg for some time and the black man Tyreese (Chad Coleman) relents and tells them it is okay to bring her along. The black woman is against it, but okays the move. Read More

The Walking Dead – Episode 7 When the Dead Come Knocking

Sneaking Up on The Governor Outside Woodbury

Michonne, Rick, Oscar and Daryl Outside Woodbury on the Walking Dead

We start our latest episode in Woodbury with Merle questioning Glenn. Merle is of course using all of his original charm to let Glenn know that he isn’t happy with the way things went after the gang abandoned him on the rooftop many months back. He is particularly happy to hear that T-Dog died. He decides to use Maggie as leverage and finds Glenn isn’t the wimpy character he knew from the old days. Unfortunately, that means that Glenn has to suffer severely at Merle’s hands as he tries to dig the location of Daryl and the other survivors out of Glenn’s memory. It also means that Maggie gets to sit in another room as Merle uses Glenn as a punching bag. At one point he comes close to cutting Glenn’s nose off, but the remaining beating takes place on the other side of a wall, so we don’t see everything Mr. Wonderful is doing to Glenn, but we know he is having a good time now that he has one of those who left him locked on a rooftop in his grasp. The Walking Dead's Merle Dixon

Merle Dixon of the Walking Dead

Merle and three of Woodbury’s stalwart young men are out looking for Michonne when they come across partial bodies of three walkers. The body parts are laid out so that arms form a G and two legs form an O and a third piece is a back that when combined form the words go back. It is a sign from Michonne telling them to keep moving and to leave her alone. Merle finds the setup funny and calls it a Bitergram. He wants to know what she’s gonna do. Is she going to jump out of the woods with her little pig sticker and take on four armed men. As he’s yelling no, no, no Michonne, she suddenly appears and does a slice and dice on the three young men taking one’s head off almost instantly, gutting one and using him as a shield while she goes after Neil, the third. Before she can get to Neil and cleanly away, Merle wings her and then takes off after her as she retreats. As Merle goes after her he yells out “are we having fun yet.” Read More

Penny and The Governor

The Governor and Penny Share Some Family Time

We open in 1952 in Woodbury where folks are having a block party. Milton hands Andrea a cold beverage and he comments that it might not be the best use of the community’s generators to which Andrea agrees, but they continue as if questioning it is a silly thought. Of course we are really in modern day walker year two and all that we see has been graciously brought to us by the Governor for a little walk down memory lane. Read More

Walking Dead Carl and Lori

Lori says Good-bye to Carl on The Walking Dead

Halloween treats lead the way into the prison as someone from outside gathers prime dear meat cuts and spreads them along a path inside. We can’t see who it is, but they carefully remove locks and obstacles along the way making it possible for walkers to get into the prison as they go. While they are creating a secret pathway into the cellblock, members of Rick’s hunt and hack team are outside moving cars and buses from the main prison yard to insure a clear view of the front of the prison. As they work on the outside, someone is deep inside creating a path for this week’s killer within. Read More

Helicopter Crash Victim

I Don't Have the Virus, I'm Just Wounded

Tonight’s episode (check out our previous recap) begins with a serious malfunction and crash of a helicopter occupied by at least three passengers in military gear witnessed by Andrea, Michonne and hundreds of walkers in the surrounding farmland neighborhood. Andrea and Michonne give each other a shrug and head toward the pillar of smoke resulting from the crash. After they arrive, Michonne chains her pet walkers to a tree and reconnoiters the scene. The first airman she finds is torn in half with his guts spilled all over the ground. Michonne spots a second dead body and then hears the sounds of a couple of approaching vehicles and dashes into the woods. Read More
