Hollywood Week- Final Performances

Friday, February 17 | Posted by ohmygodBecky in American Idol,Recaps

Giving Buddy Holly a run for his money, this group blows it out!

We left off with the Idols that were moving on being told the next part of Hollywood Week would be taking place in Las Vegas, NV. They are set to perform on the Viva Elvis stage at the Aria. Tonight wraps up Hollywood Week with the contestants doing a final round of group performances, with the stakes upped even higher. Before they left, they made up groups and picked a song from the 50s or 60s. We see the groups performing with Idol’s vocal coaches, including the “Coach from Hell” from last year. The groups are under a lot of pressure, there are a lot of nerves! Here comes the judges, and off we go! Ryan says “There will be cuts, and they will be brutal.” Deep, Ryan.

Hollyood Round- Part 3

Mostly International Team, thanks to... Hee Jun... nice one Richie.

As we recap where we left off from last week, we see plague and frustration setting in across the teams. Ryan announces that tonight we’ll see the best of the best…Group day kicks off. We see groups not coming together, as some new faces are shown that we haven’t seen yet. As the judges sit down, we start with “The Bettys”… one sentence to describe their previous evening “while I was barfing, they were…fighting…” Wow, this pitchy group seems… tired. Really they sound terrible, aaaaghh! Make it stop, this is just bad. We pan to the audience where people are making faces like they’re being tortured… because they are. The judges announce that only two of this group are going through. Really surprising because none of them sound like they deserve to go through at all….. as Cherie Tucker can’t keep her lunch in given the sad news. Read More

Hollywood Week Part 2- Recap

Friday, February 10 | Posted by ohmygodBecky in American Idol

"Nobody likes cops, nobody wants to be in my group."

When Hollywood Week Part 1 ended, we were left waiting to see what happened when Symone Black collapsed off the stage suddenly. This episode begins where the last one left off, as she tumbles off the front of the stage. The medics are called, the judges are in shock, but no one is really panicking. Symone regains consciousness, and seems to be ok. Read More

The group is finally here!

We found quite a few Idol hopefuls in this seasons audition round and we’ve had just about enough crazies who just want to meet J-Lo. Tonight our favorites are put to the test, we want to see how they do beyond the audition stage. Hollywood week starts out rough, with a lot of upcoming drama! Alone on stage now without the intimate audition stage, they get just a few seconds to keep the judges’ attention. Read More

Weird, wild, and wonderful, Creighton Fraker rocked our world

Hey let’s face it they can’t all blow us away. So here’s 5 people that we’re going to keep our eye on. We liked their audition and we agree that sometimes people get better the more Idol time they get. So we’re glad they went through and we hope to see them blossom in Hollywood. Read More

Thursday, February 9 | Posted by ohmygodBecky in American Idol

Joy-Hoppin Ashlee Altise certainly brought the funk!

We’ll admit, what’s a good audition run without a couple of nutsos. Yeah the William Hungs get old before they even open their mouths, we instead love the people that are crazy and actually have talent. We’ve rounded up our 5 favorite auditions that were totally weird and we’re glad we’ll be seeing again. Read More

Lauren Mink from Savannah is "Country Strong"

Season 11 Audition Round-Up: Top 5 Guys

Thursday, February 9 | Posted by ohmygodBecky in American Idol

David Leathrs Jr. blew us away... and might be the next Michael Jackson Jr. :)

The round-up of 5 guys was tough… to narrow down to 5. We got a lot of soul this time, a lot of good R&B sounding young men. However, we compiled the best of the best of these guys so you dont have to wade through remembering who to watch for.

American Idol Judges

Here they go again!

It’s that time again, the beginning of the year when that monster of a show comes back to remind us how we spend our cold new year winter Wednesday nights while waiting out the dark shortened days til Summer. We watch with a hint of bitterness as our fellow Americans make fools of themselves in the name of a few seconds on TV, waiting for that one (or two if we’re really lucky) special talent per city that has somehow been hiding out for 11 years to finally blow us away. Wait no more, fans and friends! Despite a few failed judges, the upheaval of the Cowell-Abdul love mis-connection, and the return of our faithful and fearless leader Ryan Seacrest (for at least one more season!) American Idol is back! Read More
