THIS. IS. IT. y’all!!! #idolfinale 12 is finally here!! Tonight we see Kree Harrison up against my fave: Candice Glover! Not only has it been the year for a girl to win, it has been a FEMALE OVERLOAD of a top 10. The Top 4 were all females, and in my opinion, the best of the best. Tonight will definitely be a knockout performance… all 6 of them! The ladies have to sing 3 songs each, first is Simon Fuller’s choice, choice 2 is the Idols’ single, song 3 is their personal pick!! The judges are looking ab fab tonight… Ryan calls tonight “country vs. soul, Kreedom vs. Candy Girl”… nice…. sounds like an awful lot of Team Candice fans tonight… although the Kree fans miiiiight have been louder. Here come the Idols! I love these two ladies, seriously they so deserve this. Usually I hate one of the finalists, but I love both of these ladies… but i’m not shy: I WANT CANDICE TO WIN!!! Read More
Shows we Love: American Idol
Well it’s finally here.. no, not the finale, the top 3 results!! This is the second to last results epiosode, but really the last because next week’s will be crowning a winner. Ahhemmm, Candice, please get your head measurements ready for that crown. Last night’s performances were pretty intense. 3 rounds of picks by the judges, producers, and Jimmy. Tonight though, we get a special treat: Alicia Keys is performing, Lauren Alaina is performing, PLUS we see the debut of Mariah’s new single “Beautiful”. It’s jam packed y’all… OH… and we’ll find out the results of WHO’S GOING TO THE FINAL 2!!
The show starts out with the Idols singing Selena Gomez’s “Who Says”. It’s a pretty cheesy song.. super feel good message, but hey… what can I expect, it’s Idol. Read More
Here we are, “the race to the finale officially begins!” Yes, it’s the long awaited, much anticipated Top 3!! TTonight is the homecoming episode… yes that’s right, the Top 3 ladies got to go on a visit to their hometowns and perform. With all the paparazzi, limos, private jets, they got a taste of what it’s like to be the big star. This is usually a big tearjerker episode with a bunch of crying, lots of hugs, and HUNREDS of big signs. Hopefully Michael’s is stocked and ready.
Before moving forward, Ryan brings out the judges… oh WOW MiMi… you are a diva, but WOW. That dress/skirt is like 90′s bo-peep. And Nickie can’t really talk because she’s got some Barbie dress on too… par for the course really! Well I don’t know how they expect us to go on after last week’s shocking blow to the contestants… but Candice, you’ll have to pull the weight because we need you to win this whole thing! Read More
As Idol’s opener for tonight’s Top 4 Results show says: all 4 Idols are going home, but only 3 will come back. The judges parade on stage as usual, and this time Nikki is in jeans… love it! Ryan announces that the official Top 3 will be named tonight. That Top 3 will get to visit their hometowns next week. Tonight we’ll see performances from Will.I.Am., David Cook, and Harry Connick Jr. perform. The Top 4 open with Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love”.. with some kind of a Newsie dance theme. Read More
After last week’s shocking results surprise, we still have all 4 of our lovely ladies! See what had happened was, the judges never used their save, therefore there was an ‘extra person’ so the producers decided to give them a ‘bonus’ week of sorts, and no one had to go home last week. However, the votes from last week will be combined with the votes for this week, so tomorrow’s castoff won’t just be going home by tonight’s failures. Tonight they’re back to the classic Idol theme: The Standards. BLAAHHHH… can they get some new themes already? Of course the mascot of Standards is here: Harry Connick Jr.! At least he’s easy on the eyes. #IdolTop4 Read More
FINALLY!! I’ve waited to see this 4 in the finals for the whole season!! The show opens with the top 4 ladies singing Alicia Keys’ “This Girl is on Fire”. Better than Alicia?! Basically I’m just so glad that we’ve pared down this top 4 to these four girls. They have been the best of this bunch the whole time. Their opening performance is a great exposition of just how great these 4 sound together. After the song, the 4 do their Ford Fiesta commercial… I have to say, this is probably the best one I’ve seen yet… it ends with revealing Ryan’s secret… He’s cloned himself!! They even get a dis on Tom Bergeron for getting an Emmy instead of Ryan! Read More
Last night’s Idol episode revealed some real flaws in our so far bulletproof Top 7. This group has proven to be one of the most talented bunch we’ve seen concentrated together in a while. There are some real powerhouses among them, lots of soul, and some real star quality. However they are not the rockin’est bunch in the west. Last night we saw the lack of rock attitude in this group… hey, it’s okay if they’re all softies. Kree Harrison actually fared well, as did Candace Glover, and Amber Holcomb. But let’s face it, when is Amber not good. These girls could probably be stellar at anything. Tonight though we find out which of these 7 America liked the least. At this point, if it’s not Lazaro, I don’t want any of them to go! Read More
It’s rock n’ rollllll baybay! Tonight Idol “rock out” by theming the show after rock n’ roll. Pretty vague category, but maybe we’ll see some uncharted territory. Again the judges have color coordinated: this time it’s ‘Smurf Blue’ night, and Nicki and Mariah have dressed the part. Ryan of course is sensibly not participating. Ryan says that there is no slow dancin’ tonight. He brings out the Idols… style check!! Well it looks like Amber Holcomb is more appropriately dressed this week. LOL Tonight the Idols sound off on Burnell Taylor, everything from his hand gestures, to his accent, to his laugh. They joke, but dude can sang. And that’s exactly how we start the show tonight! Tonight celebrates the music and era of Motor City… it’s Motown baby!! Tonight they reached into the bag and pulled out a truly special guest mentor…Smokey Robinson! Love this theme and I think it’s very well suited to a lot of these final top 8 contestants. I can’t believe it’s the Top 8 already… they sent a lot of people packin. This is one of my favorite Top 8′s ever, I have to say. I love the soulful talent and the lack of cookie-cutter kids who got the look but not so much with the pipes. O-rig-i-nalllllle baybay! I can’t wait to see what the kids are going to give us tonight… but to start it off, LOVE that the judges are coordinating on the red… is that to show support to the HRC? Innnnnnteresting daaahhhhhling, as Mariah say. Oh the show is starting… yeeee! #MotorCityIdol Read More
Tonight is Beatles night on Idol!! Jimmy is back to guide the kids through the Fab 4, since, you know it’s their parents’ music. The Beatles are like a past legend to them I’m sure. The judges are looking stunning, Mariah is about 9 feet tall in her heels. How does she do it?!! I always notice how her and Nicki cling to their male guides as they saunter towards their chairs, clutching anything they can to keep them stilted and standing up on their way. But seriously though, I love how Keith cruises around all comfortably in his flats…. hilarious! Last week’s performances showed us just how good this group all is. It’s hard even to imagine any of them sticking out in a bad way. We’ll have to see if anyone shows any hint of weakness tonight… it could be all it takes to send them packing!
The Idols get a greeting from Carly Rae Jepsen who is debuting her Coca-Cola Perfect Harmony single on the Idol Finale. Pimping the Canadians eh Fox?! Ryan buys some more time by announcing the results of the wild card sing off between Charlie Askew and Aubrey Clelland from last week! KIEREN… DIM THE LIGHTS! The winner of the Idol tour fan save is: Aubrey Clelland who takes it like a Ms. America pageant contestant. Farewell Charlie! Read More
