Kim Swaps the Sexy in for a More Maternal Look.

It isn’t as dramatic as some media outlets are reporting, but Kim Kardashian stepped out in a maternity dress that really caught us all off guard. The most surprising element is (for once) Kim is completely covered up and there isn’t 9 inches of gaping cleavage luring our naughty eyeballs in for a good look. Perhaps that baby bump has her wardrobe taking a new direction, one that could potentially be a lot more modest!

Although it isn’t the most flattering look she’s ever gone for, I’m kinda into her new look.

It’s been reported in the past that Kardashian has taken tons of fashion clues from baby daddy Kanye West since they started dating. Not only is she following his monochromatic fashion cues, but she’s also transforming her life to involve a lot more privacy now that there’s a wee one on the way.

But looking at this dress, it’s absolutely clear that Kim is making a move that is more maternal. Of course you can get a girl knocked up, but that don’t mean she’s going to take a 9 month vacation from high heels. Kardashian completed the ensemble with gorgeous stilettos, a trademark that will probably follow her into the delivery room.

Something else that I’d like to bring to your attention…the current skin tone that Kim is sporting. Typically, she can’t make it through the week without a spray tan appointment; tan skin is like oxygen to her. She can’t survive without it. But as we all know, spray tanning during the first months of pregnancy can be very dangerous. So without it her skin is definitely paler than we have ever seen before.

And I kinda like it!

With her striking black hair pulled back in a tight bun with electric red lipstick, it honestly does work for her. However, deep down you know she hates it. Like haaaates it.

I wonder if Kim will borrow any of sister Kourtney Kardashian’s maternity clothes over the next several months? Kourt was hailed in fashion mags time and time again for her elegant, chic maternity style during both pregnancies. Then again, used clothes probably aren’t Kim’s thing. And we know that Kanye DEFINITELY wouldn’t approve of his baby being clothed in hand-me-downs either.
