TED 2! TED 2! TED 2! Yes! Yes! Yes!
What could be better than a second film “stuffed” full of fart jokes, inappropriate sexual references and racial slurs? That’s right, NOTHING. This summer Ted, the naughty teddy bear became one of the biggest R-rated comedies that the big screen has ever seen…So of course it makes sense that creator Seth MacFarlane would get busy on a sequel!
MacFarlane, the man behind the furry, potty-mouthed legend was asked during a Comic-Con panel discussion if we should look forward to more Ted in the future.
His enthusiastic response,
“I’d be open to making Ted 2.”
That’s all I needed to hear. The fact that I can once again stick my finger in his tag loop and watch him squirt lotion on his face at the checkout…that little bear had me at hello.
Unfortunately the Ted discussion got sidelined as some nerd in a size too small t-shirt asked him about an upcoming Flintstones remake. Seriously? Who gives an eff about the Flintstones when another Ted film could be getting underway right now?!
Luckily MacFarlane confirmed that the Flintstone TV series project had “been put on the backburner” and that there was “no exact schedule.”
Whew! That’s great, now go get your talking bear and make us laugh!
I would assume that the ga-zillions of dollars that Ted has grossed so far would be enough to keep Fred and Betty on the backburner for now. Between Family Guy, Ted and his other projects, I don’t know how MacFarlane keeps his head on straight, but that’s the life of a successful Hollywood director!
Would you be most interested in the Flintstones TV series reboot, or a second installment in the Ted saga? It’s obvious how I feel, but I can’t fathom the idea of anyone saying yes to the Flintstones over our favorite naughty bear.
