It’s like there has been a death in the family…
A member of the Pritchett family from the greatest comedies of all time, Modern Family, has been replaced. Of course it isn’t the highest paid TV actress, Sofia Vergara, and it isn’t Ed O’Neill, (thank goodness), but the Pritchett family dog, Stella has been replaced!
Innocent Stella that charmingly chewed on Gloria’s stilettos and even showered with Jay? How could anyone ever replace that bat-eared, Gremlin-like angel?!
Stella, the French bulldog whose real name is actually Brigitte, “works” for an agency in Hollywood called Good Dog Animals, a business that recruits loveable animals for television shows and movies. When the producers of Modern Family fell in love with Brigitte and hired her into the Pritchett family, apparently there was no formal contract in place that guaranteed her employment for any number of seasons. So after 2 perfect pooch-y seasons, Brigitte is out of work and there’s nothing that she or her owner can do about it.
However, writers for Modern Family won’t have to come up with a heart wrenching plotline where Stella moves to a sweet country Frenchie farm…aka, doggy heaven. Instead, she has been replaced with a look-a-like for next season.
(Which I HARDLY think looks like the real Stella. I guess finding a convincing canine replacement would be more difficult than replacing a person…)
Scoot over Brigitte, there’s another b*tch barking up your tree and her name is Beatrice. It isn’t clear exactly why Brig got the boot, or why Beatrice is better suited for the role, but she’s got some big paw prints to fill!
It’s a dog eat dog world out there!
